Dan Clark

“Throw yourself into the challenge and embrace the adventure!”

Tim McBain

“Take a big variety of food including ‘real food’ as you may not be able to stomach your usual stuff.”

Colin Mattinson

“Feet feet feet.. even if you have run ultras and never had a blister or rub or macerated pads... sort out a foot system, cream, dry socks (lots), tape if needed.”

Sarah Gerrish

“Take as much selection of food as you can! Especially something for the midnight munchies!!!”

Hayley Robinson

“Recce. Recce again and some more. Carry all the Mandatory Kit and water (assume its going to be hot) in all your Recce training.”

Thia Malan

“Pace yourself ie. know your paces and know how slow you need to start.”

Lee Mahon

“Recce as much as possible. Learn how to take care of your feet over multi-days.”

Will Gander

“Train, train and train some more. Focus on lots of very steep ascent and descent as well as distance.”

Philadelphia Holmes

“The best thing I did was start of this year was start a daily foot care regime that involved weekly and monthly filing of rough bits.”

Kieran Wood

“Run enough to learn where your blisters form. Put k-tape there everyday.”

Will Terry

“Revolve your life around it. Learn everything you can and make sure you're getting plenty of time on your feet!”

Laura Briggs

“Prepare for the unexpected. Ready yourself for curve balls. Leave egos at the start line and prepare to be spat out by the mountains! (But it's all amazing and totally life-affirming!!)”
